Launched in January 2026 with a crowdfunding campaign that raised over $30,000, SITE’s first year offers residencies, mentorships, and public programs, expanding in year two to include the commissioning of new exhibitions, performances, and other live formats.
Our interdisciplinary programs respond to the urgent need for sustained support for artists and cultural practitioners in Toronto, with the aim of creating the conditions for artists not only to remain in the city, but to thrive within it.
Grounded in the belief that institutions are a process rather than an endpoint, SITE is designed to be flexible, collaborative, and adaptive. Its current programs are delivered through a growing network of partners and collaborators, creating value both for participating artists and for the wider arts ecosystem in Toronto.
Guided by commitments to justice, sustainability, and anti-colonial practice, SITE understands art as inseparable from everyday life—an active force in understanding how we live, shaping collective values, and imagining more just futures.
